On 11th of December Otso´s little brother Aaro was born. In these four photos he is almost one week old.
Unlike Otso, Aaro showed his true nature from the beginning.

Everything is much easier this time as there’s three of us who take care of the little one.

We wanted to take a traditional Christmas family portrait in our minuscule 44 square meter apartment in downtown Helsinki. Otso (or was it Markku) wanted to pose in an untraditional position.

On our way to Finland from Malaysia we had a few days stop in Rome, where the headquarters of Markku’s former employer are located. One day we were invited for lunch in Markku’s colleague’s house.
We spent the beginning of October in different places in the Finnish countryside. After the urban Malaysian playgrounds Otso did not know what to do when hands get dirty. Katja’s mother shows the trick.

In October it is possible to find wild cranberries from some swamps. A small portion of Katja’s harvest went straight into Otso’s mouth, the rest into the freezer. Markku’s father was looking at the biggest of Finland’s 188 000 lakes.

Otso and his two cousins are so mobile that getting all three within the photo frames is challenging. One solution is to play boat in a cardboard box. Johannes on the left is one month younger and Esko on the right two months older than Otso.

Otso does not look particularly skinny in his late autumn or early winter wear the fist day of December. Four layers of clothing keep him warm as the temperature is still only -3 degrees centigrade. There was only a couple of centimeters snow, but the first heavy snow fell next day.

The thick clothing does not stop Otso to have fun.
